It's official, my favourite season has started, Autumn! As soon as temperatures drop and leaves start changing colours, my nesting instincts kick in. As an interior designer, I like to change my decor with the change of seasons. In the case of autumn, throws, cushions and my ceramic pumpkins come out from their hiding place to find a new spot around my home. I try not to go overboard (I do that for Halloween!) but I'm a sucker for autumnal warm earthy tones from burgundy red to burnt orange, deep green, brown and ochre but I don't disdain a bit of warm white either.

Wreaths

Starting with your front door, an easy way to add an autumnal feel are DIY wreaths. They don't need to be complicated. You need hot glue, pinecones, conkers, wheat stems if you wish, and plastic leaves and small pumpkins et "les jeux sont fait".

Ready-made wreaths and signs are also super sweet. This is in my entrance.

Candles

As nights get chillier and darker, candles offer that lovely, gentle glow that allow you to slowly relax after a long day.

There are many candles on the market, but I would always choose candles with the most natural ingredients. Most notably beeswax, coconut wax, soy wax and palm wax. Have a read here 9 Best Nontoxic Candles & What to Consider (healthline.com) or here How to Choose Non-toxic Candles for the Holidays | Eartheasy Guides & Articles.

Blankets and cushions

Ok, what's not to like about cuddling on the sofa with your favourite book or TV program and a hot drink while being surrounded by cushions and a lovely, warm blanket?

Pumpkins and dried or fake flowers

There are so many options nowadays for us pumpkin lovers: ceramic, glass, velvet and other soft materials and all in different colours.

The same goes for flowers and branches whether dry or fake. The important thing is that they are as realistic as possible.

These are all easy decoration tricks. What about you? Have you done yours yet? Xx
